Brazilian Blowout 101
We’re currently offering over $50 in savings on our Brazilian Blowout services with Quinn and Shayla for a limited time! Not sure what all the Brazilian fuss is about? We’ve answered the 5 most commonly asked questions regarding this magical hair treatment so you can book your appointment with confidence.
1. What is The Brazilian Blowout? & Why is it a magical product?
The Brazilian Blowout is a luxurious treatment that will de-frizz and smoothen your locks while improving the condition of your hair by creating a protective layer around the hair shaft. What does this mean? It means saying good-bye to the frizzies and cutting your blowout time in half - if not more!!
2. Why go Brazilian?
If you’ve tried an OG keratin treatment then you know what a nightmare it is to deal with a process in which you have to walk around with chemical-soaked hair for a few days without being able to put it up or wash it. Well not with this! The Brazilian Blowout is approximately an 80-minute process - all done in the salon. The moment you leave the salon you’re free to do whatever you’d like - shower, exercise, or even put it in a high pony without any consequences!
3. Who should get this service?
In our experience, the Brazilian Blowout works best on frizzy, damaged, or over-processed hair but all hair-types are welcomed! The BB website says it best: “If your hair is wavy, the Brazilian Blowout will make your hair appear smooth and healthy. If your hair is very curly, it will minimize frizz while enhancing the appearance of the natural wave/curl. If you have straight, frizzy hair, this treatment will eliminate frizz and promote radiant shine.” While this product is guideline compliant, it is important to remember that this is a chemical service, so if you are pregnant, have asthma, or are sensitive to breathing in chemicals then you may want to do your research or check in with your stylist before booking.
4. How long does it last?
The Brazilian Blowout can last up to 12 weeks, but remember that this is dependent on how you take care of your hair. As you can imagine, the more you wash it, the more you will wash the product out of your hair - but if you’re already following our suggestion of only washing it 1-3 times a week (mentioned in our previous post) then you should be fine. The most crucial recommendation is to make sure that you are using a gentle sulfate-free and chlorine-free shampoo at home. This is major as sulfates will immediately start breaking down the treatment and will drastically cut its longevity. If you need help knowing which products to use, we sell amazing options in the salon and would love to point you in the right direction.
5. Is this good for color-treated hair?
Yes, in fact, it will only make your hair shinier and healthier looking! If you are thinking about doing both services on the same day then keep in mind that you will be sitting in our chair for a long time. Although we would love to spend half our day with you, we recommend booking the services separately - first the treatment and then the color with two weeks in between each appointment. This will guarantee healthy happy hair with the most gorgeous color you can imagine!
